Covert Township owns a municipal septic system, serving approximately 150 customers in the hamlet area and beyond. Fleis and Vandenbrink serves as the consulting engineer and operator of the system.

Residential customers receive quarterly bills at a set rate determined by the Township Board to cover maintenance, repair and future replacement of the system. Bills are sent out quarterly on the first of March, June, September and December. Payment is due 90 days after the bill is issued, after which a $10 dollar late fee will be assessed. If a bill is unpaid after 180 days, the amount due will be placed on the property tax bill for collection.
