The Senior Advisory Committee is a dedicated group formed to advocate for the well-being and needs of Covert Township’s senior residents. The mission of the Senior Advisory Committee is to provide advice and program suggestions to the Township Board on how to best utilize available funds to most benefit the senior citizens of Covert.
The Committee is comprised of five members: four residents of Covert Township and one representative from the Township Board. To maintain impartiality, individuals employed by or under contract with senior programs are ineligible to serve.
Members are appointed by the Township Board for staggered terms of two and four years, ensuring continuity and a fresh perspective. This structure allows for a smooth transition of leadership while maintaining a consistent focus on the needs of our senior community.
The Committee shall develop a mission statement, make recommendations and give advice to the Township Board on the fiscal and charitable operations of the senior services.
The Committee shall annually, before May 1 st of each year, prepare a budget to be submitted to the Township Board.
The Covert Senior Advisory Committee holds Regular Meetings at 4:00PM on the 2nd Thursday of the last month of each quarter at the Covert Township Hall, 73943 E. Lake Street, Covert, MI 49043. Meeting dates and times are subject to change, please check our calendar for the latest updates.
