Van Buren State Park
Located on 50 acres of protected dunes, this Township park offers access a quarter mile of pristine beach on Lake Michigan. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas, grills, playground, washrooms and walking trails. Covert Park offers single room cabins, as well as primitive and developed RV sites for campers May 15 – October 15. Township park management and improvements are advised by the Covert Park Advisory Committee, who makes recommendations to the Township Board. Parking Fee for Non-Covert Residents – must provide proof of residency
This one-acre downtown park is home to a children’s playground and the veteran’s memorial. Expansion of the play equipment and the addition of a pavilion are scheduled to be installed by the end of 2024 thanks to an award through the MEDC’s Revitalization and Placemaking Grant, and dollars received from the American Rescue Act.
